Easy Rider, 20064:32 video
Easy Rider takes place on a tram in Amsterdam, where a young man is asking a bit too much from a stranger. He asks to borrow a laptop, then a jacket, then a comb, a situation that starts with a seemingly reasonable request becomes gradually more outrageous: give an inch and they’ll take a mile. In only a few minutes the carefully segregated personal space of public transport is destabilised, as other commuters are compelled to participate in the giving of advice to both men. People come together over a joint situation, even after the young man has exited the tram the discussion continues, a moment of shared altruism reverberates.
