Ice Breaker, 2007Performance
Taking place several times over a one week period, Ice Breaker was a performance in an ice cream bar in Kringlan shopping centre, Reykjavik, as part of the exhibition of public art: Midaugur og Kringla; Leisure, administration and control. Performed by Amalia Sverrisdottir, who entered the ice cream bar through the back door, unannounced, and during the busiest times the day - she then started tasting the ice cream. The action went on for half an hour at a time. The staff pretended not to notice anything unusual and wouldn’t answer any questions concerning the performer.
